Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games: The City of Vancouver
From figure skating to the bob sledding, ice hockey, ski jumping, there nothing like being there to attend the Winter Olympics. If you intend to see Vancouver 2010 Olympics, may be good to know more about this jewel in British Columbia. So, just in time for the 2010 Olympic Games, here is the story City of Vancouver:
The first European to visit in the region that would become the city of Vancouver was José María Narváez Spain, in 1791, but insists that Samuel Bawlf Francis Drake may have visited the region in 1579. In all cases, a year after Navares Vancouver, George visited location and officially put on the map, giving all the comforts of the European Day of names. Simon Fraser, an explorer is famous for being the first person to set foot on the actual surface itself Vancouver (Vancouver is supposed to have explored the area). In 1808, Fraser came from the east by the river Fraser in the region at the University of British Columbia may be built.
The city grew around a rush gold a year later, when Fraser said he found gold in the commercial field and wood that has created the first permanent town. The City of Vancouver was formally established April 6, 1886, the same year the first railroad arrived finally bring an easy way for young people find their way. The name, of course in memory and honor of George Vancouver was chosen by William Van Horne, the chairman of the Railway Canada came to dedicate the new terminal in the city in the same year. The year 1886 also saw a complete reconstruction of the new city as a Fire ravaged the city. A new fire department Vancouver was established after the fire (and do not worry, for the Olympic Games Vancouver 2010, the Vancouver Fire Department has a class worldwide).
The city was built largely on the strength of the surrounding natural resources and of course the presence of the railway line which allowed the material to be exported to other parts of Canada. Manufacturing has not really take in the city until much later, there was little call for these services in a small city like Vancouver.
Throughout the 20th century, the city has grown by leaps and bounds in the city of Vancouver has been chosen to host the last Olympic Games Vancouver 2010.

How many medals do you think Spain will win in the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games? (International responses allowed. No country in hitting, please)
Well, we just have a favorite a gold medal with an epic fail in snowboard cross, so I'm not too optimistic at this time. I think we'll end up with about 22, a little behind what we did in Torino. Edit: Okay, I feel much better about women's Snowboard Cross now! Hopefully for 25 medals.
